After 14-Saturdays of immersive training designed to teach Data Science, Batch 7 has finally completed their training.

With industry experts in Data Science and Analytics as their mentors, they learned:

  • Data Storytelling

  • Practical statistical methods

  • Real-life applications of commonly used algorithms

  • Programming in python

  • Presentation and communication skills

Training was officially completed on August 13, Saturday, when For the Women (FTW) foundation conducted its commencement exercise for Batch 6 of its Data Science Scholarship program.

Sponsored by the e-commerce giant, Lazada, the scholars were able to complete 14 Saturdays of in-depth Data Science training mentored by those top in the field.

Proving that "Women Can" indeed change the landscape of Data Science, the scholars presented their Capstone projects to potential recruiters and sponsors. Scholars, divided into different groups, presented their findings and recommendations on different topics:

KMeans Girls: Understanding the best clients of a consumer finance service provider to improve marketing strategies, customer life cycle, and customer acquisition.

LazMoles: Determining the underlying differences in skincare product assortments of top e-commerce platforms in the Philippines

Tributes: To improve service to client by determining ways on how the capstone sponsor, an IT system provider, may meet its SLAs on their computerized system with client, based on the insights from the helpdesk transactions

Homies: To develop a model and predict early churn rate which first-time mobile app users of a consumer finance service provider are likely to churn based on demographics and app behavior.

Voltage: To improve power service reliability through understanding patterns of grid electrical failures and monitoring key factors affecting response performance
